Yoshi Touch and GoI bought this game hoping for an improved clone of Yoshi's Island with some new touch screen capabalities. I was extremely disappointed and as I leafed through the instruction manual to discover the terrible mode titles, "Time attack mode", "Marathon mode", "Challenge mode" and the dreaded "Score attack mode". I nervously switched on my DS in the vain hope that it was more than the manual had shown. however, after a cursory glance at the title screen and a few minutes of play I slowly underwent the painful realization that this was a terrible game. To start with, only 2 of these modes are available and as you may have guessed, they are the worst 2, marathon and score, to unlock the other modes (all of which offer as much enjoyment as a deflated beachball in a small kitchen) you first have to accquire the high score in the other two modes. The 2D graphics are poor, the sound is shocking and the over-the-top use of the touch screen just doesn't seem to work as well as in other games (e.g Kirby Canvas Curse). The painful fact of the matter is that, as my previous idea implies, this could have been a great game. The touch screen capabilities are innovative and well thought out but it appears the designers just gave up and shoved what they had made so far together to create if you will, a half-eaten casserole of a game. No story, No variation, No fun! Don't make the same mistake I did and waste £25 of your hard-earned money on this clothes peg of a game. If you really want a game that makes good use of the touch screen then wait for Kirby Canvas Curse or order it from America as it is a much more enjoyable game.
