DS Game Reviews: Nanostray

NanostrayThis game is simply amazing. It is a fantastic 3D scrolling shooter which is only matched by fantastic gameplay. The storyline is pretty simplistic, you wake up in your craft with a destination on your computer and you go to investigate. Upon every investigation you find hostiles and destroy them. The fun in this game definately exists in the gameplay. It is a high paced, adrenaline driven shooter, with configurable weapons and rich 3D backgrounds. Along with the lower touch screen of the DS, you have the ability to quickly scan bosses for weakpoints, change weapon configurations, select destinations and get an overall tactical display. This game is also multiplayer so you and a friend can duke it out to find out who has faster reflexes. The sound is decent as far as scrolling shooters go. This is a great platform game, one of a few now available for the Nintendo DS. If you're into scrolling shooters along the lines of Gradius, Lifeforce, R-Type, etc...then you're are definately going to like this one, it's breathtaking.

Suprisingly enough, this game was pretty quick to beat. It only took me the good portion of a day to complete the main quest. The only thing level are the individual challenges. This is still a good game, but it would have been nice if they would have made it longer.
