PC Game Reviews: Ground Control II: Operation Exodus

Ground Control II: Operation Exodus
I found a game I had never heard of before called Ground Control II in the penny section of this small bookstore. The game only cost me a few bucks but man, this game kicks butt. It has the same control structure as Warcraft, but takes place in the far future on different planets. The graphics are amazing for this type of game. As you select an infantry member and zoom in, the infantry member gets more and more detailed. You can change your perspective so that you are looking in any direction you desire. You can even look straight up and admire the constellations and planets in the sky. The water effects are amazing aswell. This game is one of those amazing games that just fell by the wayside. Another very cool thing about this game is the use of the terrain. You can position your infantry within buildings and control the direction that they face and attack. You also gain better cover when in forest regions, and gain more accuracy when on a platform above an enemy. You get to have full control of you dropships, including ability to upgrade them. As you play, your infantry members level up, assuming that you don't get them killed. As they level, they gain attributes which makes them more formidable. This game is great, if you like Command and Conquer or Warcraft type games, this is a definate must play.
