Tao's Adventure: Curse of The Demon Seal
Mondominio is a city of monster hunters that thrives on the trade of monster eggs. In its center stands Monster Tower, a giant stone tower built to resemble the ancient ruins of a faraway land. The massive tower sealed away countless monters, and their valuable eggs were traded on the market, with the rarer egss selling for higher prices. The tower brought prosperity to the city, and the people of Mondominio thrived on its lucrative business. Until an emormouse bolt of lightning struck the tower, damaging the seal that contained the monsters. Chaos consumed the tower as the monters broke loose. Theire terror quickly spread throughout the land, and within moments, people from all around were being attacked by these savage monsters.

On the remote island of Bente, a secretive group of magicians were training in peace. A boy named Tao, son of the great wizard Amon, lived happily with his family of four. But the peaceful days were brought to a sudden end when the monsters invaded Bente Island. The monsters attacked the island residents with a vicious curse that turned them into stone. Only Tao and a few others managed to avoid the curse. To break the curse, it is said that only the egg of the same monster can revert the spell. And so, Tao was set off to Mondominio to search for the magic egg.

This game is suprising a bit of a let down. Being that this game comes from the legendary Konami, you would expect it to be good along the lines of castlevania. But unfortunately it is not. The game truly is an RPG, with dialog, leveling and side kicks. But almost all of the player's time is spent climbing that giant tower. Other than that, you'll find yourself walking back and forth between shops and talking to people who live in Mondominio. The upside to this game is its true RPG nature and touch screen spell casting. You are given a spell book that contains the spells you have learned so far. In order to cast a spell, you need to be able to redraw the spell diagram. I have put several hours into this game hoping for it to get better, but unfortunately it's just more of the same. Once you enter the giant tower, you're map is fogged over until you visit that area, then the path becomes revealed. You wander higher and higher in the tower going from level to level finding various items and solving simplistic puzzles. The sound is decent, and the graphics are fair. The gameplay is fair and the storyline is decent. I don't recommend this game, it becomes rather boring quite quickly.
