DS Game Reviews: New Super Mario Bros.

New Super Mario Bros.
Finally, a new Super Mario Bros that follows in the original footsteps of the game that made it a hit. Now I'm not saying that all the other Mario games weren't good, not by a long shot. I'm just saying I'm glad someone out there dicided to go back to the kick butt basics of the original title. This game is fantastic, an awesome addictive play. I just picked this game up on Friday and by Saturday I was at world 8-3. I can't wait to finish this game, then go back and pick up everything that I missed. I'm sure there will be a lot to do the second time around as well. The graphics on this baby are great, the Nintendo DS is a great system to have this game on. The sound is fantastic as well, they kept a lot of the original game sounds to add a bit of retro flare. The game play is amazingly good. The game play for the most part is simple like the original with just a few new twists like the jump and ground pound, as well as a few others that I won't spoil. Tons of new enemies, new challenges and new levels. The storyline is pretty basic, as always...but this game is not about the storyline. This game is about the pure quick paced game play. Do you remember the days for playing Super Mario on the NES? Running all the time with the A button down, well they're back. Go pick this game up, everyone I showed this to and that played it all agreed. This is a must have game!
