Castlevania: Curse of DarknessAt first glance into the gameplay of this game, one would probably think...oh great, now Castlevania has gone Onimusha, but make no mistake, this is a really fun addictive game. The open screen graphics are great, as you would expect from a Castlevania game. The in game graphics however are decent, not great in my opinion and nowhere near the quality you are used to in third person 3D adventure games on the XBox. But this doesn't really matter once you start playing. I believe one of the main reasons the graphics aren't quite as good as other titles of the same style is due to the loading speed of each level. As far as Castlevania goes, the levels load extremely fast and you are never left waiting for more than a second or two. Once you get into the gameplay and storyline of this game, it's all over. The storyline follows Hector, a devil forgemaster who is seeking vengeance for the death of his beloved Rosaly. Falsely accused of witchcraft, she was burned at the stake in a sham trial orchestrated by Issac, another devil forgemaster still loyal to Dracula's forces. As you try to locate Issac within Valachia, you are put up against tons of devilish creatures, aswell as some pretty strange characters which you don't know if are your friends or enimies. The in gameplay itself has a lot of very cool features ranging from custom weapon creation and custom attack combinations based on those weapons, to Innocent Devils forged from Devil Shards and used by you in your battles. This game is highly addictive and quite hard to stop playing once you start. Following in the footsteps of its many predacessors, there are tons if hidden rooms, secrets and items strung throughout the levels in this game. This version of Castlevania also incorporates many elements of traditional RPG games including character attributes, attack points and equipable items, armor and weapons. The sound and music is right on course for a Castlevania title. I highly recommend this game, just make sure you don't have anything to do for few days before you start playing.
